The ST series is the latest generation of the compact, robust and cost effective NorthStar (Lakeshore) SLIM Tach bearingless magnetic encoder for demanding motor mount applications. The latest design offers unparalleled reliability, ease of installation and performance.

The ST is designed for mounting to AC or DC motors with configurations for NEMA 56C/140C C-faces, NEMA 8.5" C-faces or 6.75" Baldor Reliance motors and the compact design is ideal for sandwich mounting between motors and gearboxes or breaks. The ST is a drop-in replacement for previous NorthStar and Lakeshore models and comparable Avtron models.

Easy Installation and Reduced Misalignment

The ST's large non contact air gap (0.060" nominal, +0.050/-0.125" axial tolerance) means quick and easy installation with no precision tools, shims or measurements required. The ST series is more forgiving in tough applications and reduces wheel to sensor strikes.

Diagnostic LED and Improved Pulse Wheel Design

An active LED provides on-board diagnostics for quick troubleshooting during installation and operation. The ST series also features a new wheel design that positively locks to the shaft with a non marring, mechanical clamping flange that avoids damage to the shaft.

High Current Line Driver With Active Line Suppression

High current means trouble-free operation with long cable runs with universal voltage range for system flexibility, without scrubber circuits and protection from electrical connection issues.
